Measuring Child Poverty
15 February 2013
ANEC responded to a Department of Education/Department for Work and Pensions consultation on better measures of child poverty. The paper contended that a multidimensional measure would provide a more accurate reflection of poverty than a measure based solely on household income, and sought views on what factors should be included in such a measure.
ANEC's response supports the principle of a multidimensional measure in which income is a central element, supported by a small number of additional key factors.
