Street Trading and Pedlary Laws
15 February 2013
ANEC responded to a consultation paper published by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on a proposal to repeal the Pedlars Acts 1871 and 1881, and to amend existing street trading legislation, as the Government considers this is necessary to ensure compliance with the European Services Directive.
Our response points out the proposals give rise to some significant public order and fair trading issues that the Government will need to take into account.
