Big Lottery Fund Consultation: Strategic Framework 2009-2015 - February 2009
Between 2002 and 2008 the North East received £108, 068, 776 from the BIG Lottery Fund (BIG), a total of 4456 awards and despite the recession sales of lottery tickets have actually increased in recent months. BIG has consulted on its priorities for funding for the period 2009-2015. The key issues covered in the consultation included:
- Identifying funding themes for period 2009-2015
- Allocation of funding to voluntary and community sector
- Different types of funding provision
- Improving effectiveness and impact of funding
- Public engagement in BIG’s work
- Developing the role of the BIG
- Risk taking
- Partnership working
Given the impact Lottery funding can have on North East communities the Association of North East Councils has produced a regional response. The response attached has been compiled based on contributions from lead voluntary and community sector local authority officers and feedback from a BIG regional stakeholder event in January.
