Consultation Responses

In November 2008, the Government announced its Local Authority Finance Settlement for 2009/10, outlining a £4.2% funding increase for English councils this year. Local Government Minister John Healey described the £2.96bn rise as a fair and affordable settlement for councils to continue to support their communities in these tough economic times.

The consultation paper sought views on the amount of Revenue Support Grant, the amount of the grant to be paid to receiving authorities, the amount of grant to be paid to each specified body and the distributable amount of National Non-Domestic rates for 2009-10.
